The "New Jersey Online Boating Course" is the first NJ State Police, Marine Services Bureau,

GET YOUR NEW JERSEY BOATER CARD IN 3 EASY STEPS:

  1. Pass the New Jersey Online Boating Course by completing each of the 7 chapters and print your "Proof of Completion". Study at your own pace - there is no expiration. By NJ state law, the course must take a certain amount of time, and because of this, there are timers on each of the pages that must elaspe before you can move on to the next page. Be patient, and let the timers guide you through the course.
  2. Schedule an appointment to take your final in-person exam. Click the "Final Exam Sites & Dates" button above to see a list of locations, dates and times.
  3. Show your "Proof of Completion" and ID at a testing center. There is a testing fee of $30.00 which is paid to the instructor at the testing site. The final exam must be taken in-person and a passing score of 80% or better is required.
