American Boating Education, LLC provides online and home study boating education for the novice, recreational and advanced boat operator.

The course is approved by NASBLA and recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard and the State of New Jersey.

The New Jersey Boat Operator Course is approved by the New Jersey State Police Marine Services Bureau and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and it is recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard.

We offer an online course with an in-person final exam (as required by the State of New Jersey). Our boating education and online boating course will take you step-by-step through the rules and regulations of recreational power boating. After completing the online course and scheduling an in-person proctored test, you will earn your official boating license recognized by the state of New Jersey!

1. Pass the New Jersey Online Boating Course™ (at www.BoatCourse.com) by completing each of the 7 chapters and print your "Proof of Completion". Click Here To Start

2. Schedule an appointment to take your final in-person exam. Click the "Exam Locations" button above to see a list of locations, dates and times.

3. After completing the NJ online course, you must then take the final in-person exam. Show your "Proof of Completion" of the online course and a valid ID at a testing center. There is a testing fee of approximately $30.00, which is paid to the instructor at the testing site. A passing score of 80% or better is required to receive your NJ Boater Card from the NJ State Police, Marine Services Bureau.
